APOSTILLE FOR
ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS
Apostille for Original Documents
We specialize in Apostille and Authentication Services throughout the United States and its Territories. Our experienced staff will help you to process an Apostille directly from the issuing State. For example: you were born in California and have Birth Certificate signed by the state registrar of the Department of Health Services (D.H.S.) we will process your Apostille in Sacramento, California; and let's say, you went to Nevada to get married, your Marriage License will have to be Apostilled in Carson City, Nevada.
Acquiring an Apostille or Certification from Secretary of State for Original Document can be time-consuming. For Secretary of State to affix an Apostille, documents have to meet special requirements, and, in some States, extra stages of verification have to take place (ex. Authentication from the County Clerk's Office). As we explained in our - What is an Apostille – section, both Apostille and Certification are issued to verify the authenticity of an official signature on a document; the capacity in which the person signing the document acted; and the identity of any stamp or seal affixed to the document. All of which means the acceptable original document has to have the signature of the current Official or one ON RECORD in the Secretary of State Office.
Time Sensitive Matters
If you do not have the document which needs to be apostilled or your document is not acceptable for Apostille, you must take into consideration time for obtaining a new certified copy of your document acceptable for an Apostille or Certification. We are here to guide you through that process as well!
TIP: Vital Records
If your Documents are not acceptable (too old, missing seal or sufficient signature), please order a new Certified Copy for International use via https://www.vitalchek.com. The Department of Health uses a secure third-party vendor to assist with online orders. Order can be completed if your name appears on the record. These Orders are reviewed within 24 hours and shipping time is depending on the delivery method. (UPS expedite delivery is available in most of the States)
TIP: Notarized Documents such as Powers of Attorney
Please note, that some states require extra verification stages for Notarized Documents before accepting them for Apostille of Certification.
Acceptable Notarization must have 5 following elements:
-
Venue (places where the notarization took place, ex. State of New York, County of Albany)
-
Date
-
Notarial Statement - Jurat or Acknowledgment
-
Stamp/Seal
-
Signature
TIP: Court Documents
Please note, in the majority of States in order for Secretary of State to accept any type of Court documents they have to bare signature of the County Clerk. When requesting any kind of Judgement or Decree from the Country Clerk’s Office, make sure to order a certified copy of your document.
